'Standing Free'

£3,300.00

A stand alone sculpture made from British Burl Elm. Featuring London hallmarked solid Sterling silver and Maple 'bowtie' joints. Supported by a blackened steel and ‘shou sugi ban’ carbonised Oak base.

Elm is a timber that has become increasingly rare as a result of Dutch elm disease which swept through Britain in the 1960s and 70s. Over 90% of Elms were lost. Incorporating sterling silver into the design creates unique contrast between these raw materials as well as bringing intrinsic value and provenance to the piece.
